Holy Heat Batman!

Sometimes it is easy (and wistful) to convince myself that this is a just a little mom and daughter shopping trip, instead of what it really is. No shopping stops for us today though. We drove through mountains, deserts, Vegas!, a sand storm and a desert rain storm. The car AC struggled to keep up with the heat which hit a whopping 49 degrees Celsius around Death Valley, California! Here in Victorville the temperature will drop to a cool 27 overnight. Tomorrow a driver from the clinic will meet us in San Diego to escort us across the border and to our apartment. Sadie starts treatments first thing Monday morning. We are both a bit anxious, but feeling positive, about this first step in her healing.
